Comprehensive Coastal Resource Management for Tidewater Virginia Localities When updating comprehensive plans local governments may choose to utilize one of two statements prepared by VIMS. Both statements incorporate a brief summary of the science behind the latest environmental policy revisions by the Commonwealth, and identify specific recommendations and steps for local governments to adopt. These statements were prepared with input and review from local and regional planners. They may be directly reproduced or indirectly used to guide the development of original language.
