Wetlands
The Center for Coastal Resources Management (CCRM) conducts basic and applied research on the structure and functions of both tidal and nontidal wetlands, collaborating with researchers throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Applied research focuses on policy option analysis, functional assessment methods, inventory and monitoring techniques, and creation/restoration protocols. CCRM provides extensive support to the Commonwealth through review of tidal wetland permit applications, training local and state managers, development and management of data bases, and supporting regulatory program activities.
