Goal 15. To protect and maintain existing uses of estuarine waters for shellfish propagation and harvesting

STRATEGIC GOAL A

Clean shellfish waters and benthic habitats for growth and harvesting

 

INTERMEDIATE GOALS:

  1. Change public understanding/behavior regarding PS and NPS pollution
  2. Reduce toxics and nutrient levels to “safe levels” in waters affecting shellfish

 

 

STRATEGIC GOAL MEASURES:

  • Decrease in area of shellfish closure

 

INTERMEDIATE GOAL MEASURES:

·        Increase in percentage of reach showing improved understanding of point and non-point source pollution as it affects shellfish (via survey)

  • Increase in percentage of impaired waters with implemented TMDL’s (to 100%)
