Goal 16. To guide business location on coastal waters where essential to desired economic activities

STRATEGIC GOAL A

New business development in coastal areas limited to water -dependent or water-enhanced activities which will minimally impact environmental setting

 

 

INTERMEDIATE GOALS:

1.      Identify business activities considered dependent upon coastal location

2.      Identification of coastal resource elements (fisheries, habitats, etc.)

3.      Classify economic use opportunities for coastal areas by sensitivity of coastal resources to development types

4.      Change public/planners/decision makers behavior/ understanding of coastal resources and development’s long term effect

5.      Regulate building in coastal areas according to 1 and 2

6.      Coordinate permitting and planning

 

STRATEGIC GOAL MEASURES:

·        Decrease in number of RPA violations

 

INTERMEDIATE GOAL MEASURES:

·        Increase in percentage of reach showing improved understanding of coastal resources and development’s long term effects (via survey)

  • Increase in percentage of coastal zone inventoried and classified for appropriate use.
