STRATEGIC GOAL B

Effective public notification program for contaminated beds and seafood

 

INTERMEDIATE GOALS:

1. Change public understanding/ behavior regarding PS and NPS pollution

2. Identify safe levels in water connected to body burdens (bio-accumulation and magnification)

3. Reduce toxics and nutrient levels to “safe” levels

4. Cleanup of beds/ waters where appropriate

 

STRATEGIC GOAL MEASURES:

·        Decrease in harvesting in contaminated beds (to 0)

·        Decrease in illnesses due to ingestion of contaminated seafood (to 0)

 

INTERMEDIATE GOAL MEASURES:

·        Increase in percentage of reach showing improved understanding of PS and NPS pollution and its effects on seafood (via survey)
